The last day of the July! Now, there are 4 months left this year.
Reading and Fluency Activities. I am a big fan of extensive reading, because I've enhanced my reading ability through this way. Although it was not the exactly way the teacher teaches us, I've read some books since I prepared the test and till now. I read not only the books for test but also some novels and other genres of books. That was kind of way to escape from my reality, at the same time, to improve my English reading skill. Before that, my English ability was much lower than now and I can't imagine how I tried taking the test with that weak ability. Anyway, I read a book explaining the importance of reading many books(It was written in Korean), and then I tried reading books in English. The first book was Secret. The book gave readers the vocabulary list for the book and with the list, I enjoyed reading. After that time, from time to time, I enjoy reading books written in English. Although my vocabulary is so weak, my goal is not to understand 100% but just more than 70%. So, I can enjoy reading books.
Noel mentioned Dr. Dolche and Dolche list. I should look up the internet.
And... I am sorry Noel. I was dozing while reading my book. These days it is too hot, and I wake up time to time in the night. )-; But, I like you sarcasm. It's so fun! Today you said, fat people are just fat people even though they are tall. Sorry, I knew you are big, but I didn't think you are that tall, taller than Dongwoo till today.
US Education System & Overseas Prep. Jeff calls it AESOP. It was interesting to look through the USA education history and comparison teacher's position(?) among countries. Interestingly, the position teachers in Korean is not that bad as we think. On the contrary, we are on the one of the tops. I can't believe it! I want to deny it. Here, Korea, although teacher as a vocation is rather stable but I feel like I have very little power on teaching and evaluation when I see and face parents. Even they sometimes don't believe me when there is a big fight. They only see the case in their son's point of view and are rarely considerate about other's feeling. Whenever I confront this kind of situation, I feel like I am useless. Is the same in other countries?
Writing for communication. I am always lack in giving specific examples. ALWAYS! I must study for making nice specific example. Making lists is not difficult. That's what I had been trained for a year when I was young. Writing (in Korean) is - especially to keep a diary- is very enjoyable. However, writing to persuade or inform is rather difficult because of examples and reasons. ha...
Anyway, Jeff game me a shock again. He put my blog on the big screen and read it with Denis. Oops!! I was so embarrassed. I should think that like Korean teachers they can share everything about students... I can imagine Jeff smiling reading this writing now(you don't?).
Talking about CALL&Multimedia Instruction, I was very surprised with the massive materials and web sites he has gathered. It was pretty impressive! I must think over how to use these materials and web sites properly in my class. Thank you, Jeff.
Here, I confess one thing. I was so stupid. I forgot I have two google IDs and I was complaining of unsynchronizing of google+. I was wrong. I logged in with another ID. D***!!
Ha......... it is 1:08 a.m. I should finish the homework from Rob. )-;
